ABOUT ALMA DUO™
Alma Duo™ is a non-invasive, low-intensity extracorporeal shockwave therapy (LI-ESWT) designed to enhance sexual wellness by stimulating angiogenesis — the formation of new blood vessels — and improving blood flow and tissue health in the treated area.
- For men, it helps improve erectile function, performance, and sensitivity.
- For women, it supports intimate wellness, arousal, and natural lubrication, and may help with mild urinary incontinence.
The treatment is painless, requires no anesthesia or downtime, and typically involves a series of short sessions for optimal results.
PRE-TREATMENT CARE
Before Your Appointment
- Arrive with the treatment area clean and freshly washed.
- Men: the genital area should be clean-shaven (scrotum and penile shaft).
- Women: external genital area should be freshly cleansed.
- Avoid applying lotions, oils, creams, or powders to the genital area on the day of treatment.
- Empty your bladder before the session for comfort.
- Wear loose, breathable clothing for ease and comfort during and after treatment.
- No topical numbing or anesthesia is required.
- You may eat and hydrate normally before your appointment.
Medication Considerations
- Continue your normal daily medications unless otherwise instructed.
- Avoid taking anti-inflammatory medications (e.g., ibuprofen, naproxen, aspirin) 24 hours before and after treatment unless prescribed by your physician — inflammation is part of the body’s natural regenerative response.
- Antibiotics may increase photosensitivity or sensitivity to treatment. Consult your provider if currently taking them.
- Inform your provider if you:
- Have an implanted device (such as a penile implant or pacemaker).
- Have any open sores, wounds, or active infections in the treatment area.
- Have a bleeding disorder or are on anticoagulants.
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding (for female treatments).
Day of Treatment
- Shower or gently cleanse the treatment area before your appointment.
- Avoid heavy exercise or activities that increase body temperature immediately before treatment.
- Inform your provider if you have had any changes in medications, health conditions, or infections since your consultation.
POST-TREATMENT CARE
Immediately After Treatment
- No downtime is required. You may return to your normal daily activities immediately after treatment.
- You may experience mild tingling, warmth, or slight sensitivity in the treatment area for a few hours — this is normal and temporary.
- Avoid applying heat, ice, or topical creams unless directed by your provider.
- Sexual activity can typically be resumed the same day or within 24 hours, as comfort allows.
First 24–48 Hours
- Continue to avoid anti-inflammatory medications (such as Advil, Motrin, Aleve, or aspirin) to allow your body’s natural healing and vascular response to occur.
- Avoid vigorous physical activity or friction to the treated area for 24 hours.
- Maintain hydration, as water intake supports cellular repair and vascular recovery.
- Men may notice temporary increased sensitivity or fullness, while women may experience increased warmth or heightened sensitivity — both are normal signs of vascular activation.
First Week
- Mild soreness or tenderness in the treatment area may occur, typically resolving within 1–2 days.
- Avoid applying harsh soaps, lotions, or fragranced products directly to the area for 2–3 days.
- Continue to maintain good genital hygiene and hydration.
- Men may begin to notice improvement in erection firmness and quality within 2–3 weeks after starting treatment.
- Women may notice increased moisture, sensitivity, and sexual comfort within 2–4 weeks.
RESULTS AND TREATMENT PLAN
- Results develop gradually as new blood vessels form and tissue oxygenation improves.
- Most patients report noticeable benefits within 3–6 weeks after starting treatment.
- Optimal outcomes are achieved with a series of 6 treatments, typically performed 2 per week for 3 weeks, followed by maintenance treatments every 6–12 months as recommended.
For Men:
- Improvements in erectile firmness, sensitivity, and spontaneity.
- May be combined with other therapies such as PRP (P-Shot) or shockwave-based regenerative treatments for enhanced outcomes.
For Women:
- Enhanced natural lubrication, sensitivity, and sexual satisfaction.
- Can be combined with vaginal rejuvenation procedures such as Alma FemiLift™ or PRP (O-Shot) for comprehensive intimate health.
