What is a laser hair reduction treatment like?
How does laser hair reduction work?

The Clarity II is a laser hair removal system that uses two wavelengths of light to effectively target and destroy hair follicles. The settings are adjusted based on the color and thickness of the hair, as well as your skin type. During the procedure, a handheld device emits precise laser pulses across the treatment area, focusing on individual hair follicles. The pigment in the follicles absorbs the laser energy, which inhibits hair growth while leaving the surrounding skin unharmed.
When will I see laser hair reduction results?

Most patients begin to see results within two to three weeks after their first treatment. Since lasers only target hair follicles in the active growth phase, multiple sessions are necessary for optimal results. At any given time, approximately 30 percent of hair follicles are in the resting phase and are not affected by the laser.

How many laser hair removal treatments will I need?

The number of treatments needed depends on the area being treated, but most patients see a significant reduction in unwanted hair after 3 to 8 sessions. To achieve optimal results, our professional team will schedule your treatments according to your hair growth cycles, typically with 4–6-week intervals between each session.

Pre-Care Instructions for Laser Hair Reduction (Clarity 2)

Avoid Sun Exposure: Please avoid direct sun exposure for at least 2 weeks prior to your treatment. If you must be outdoors, use a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) to protect the treatment area.

Shave the Treatment Area: Shave the area to be treated 24–48 hours before your appointment. Do not wax, pluck, or bleach the hair, as these can affect the effectiveness of the treatment.

No Tanning Products: Refrain from using tanning lotions, self-tanners, or other products that darken the skin in the 2 weeks before treatment.

Avoid Certain Medications: If you are on any medication that increases sensitivity to light (e.g., antibiotics, retinoids, or Accutane), please inform us ahead of time. You may be asked to discontinue certain medications before your appointment.

Clean, Dry Skin: On the day of your treatment, make sure the skin is clean, dry, and free from any lotions, creams, deodorants, or makeup on the treatment area.

Avoid Electrolysis or Waxing: Please avoid electrolysis, waxing, or plucking the area for at least 4 weeks prior to treatment, as these can interfere with the effectiveness of the laser treatment.
What are the post care instructions for Laser Hair Reduction?
Post-Care Instructions for Laser Hair Reduction (Clarity 2)

Avoid Sun Exposure: After your treatment, avoid direct sun exposure for at least 2 weeks. If exposure is unavoidable, be sure to apply sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) to the treated area.

Cooling the Skin: If you experience any redness or swelling after treatment, you can apply a cool compress to the treated area to help alleviate discomfort. Aloe vera gel or a gentle moisturizer can also be soothing.

Avoid Hot Showers or Baths: For the first 24 hours after treatment, avoid hot showers, saunas, or hot tubs, as the heat may irritate the treated area.

No Scrubbing or Exfoliating: Avoid scrubbing, exfoliating, or using abrasive products on the treated area for at least 5–7 days post-treatment.

No Picking or Scratching: Do not pick, scratch, or rub the treated area. This may cause irritation or skin damage.

Shaving Only: If you need to remove any regrowth after treatment, only shave the area. Do not wax, tweeze, or pluck, as this may interfere with the results.

Hydration: Keep the treated area moisturized and hydrated to promote healing.

Possible Side Effects: Mild redness or swelling is normal and should subside within a few hours to a day. If you experience any blistering, crusting, or prolonged discomfort, please contact our office immediately.

Follow-up Treatments: For optimal results, multiple treatments are often necessary. We’ll help you schedule follow-up appointments based on your individual treatment plan.
