ABOUT LASER FACIALS

A Laser Facial is a non-invasive, skin-rejuvenating procedure that uses controlled laser energy to gently heat the skin’s deeper layers, stimulating collagen production, improving tone and texture, and promoting a youthful glow — all with minimal downtime.

Laser facials are ideal for treating:

  • Uneven skin tone and texture
  • Fine lines and mild wrinkles
  • Enlarged pores
  • Sun damage or pigmentation
  • Mild redness or acne-prone skin

They are safe for most skin types and can be customized to meet your individual goals.

PRE-TREATMENT CARE

1–2 Weeks Before Treatment

  • Avoid direct sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanners for at least 2 weeks prior to your appointment.
    • Tanned or sunburned skin increases risk of irritation or pigmentation changes.
  • Discontinue use of active skincare ingredients for 5–7 days before treatment:
    • Retinoids (Retin-A, Tretinoin)
    • Alpha and beta hydroxy acids (AHA/BHA)
    • Benzoyl peroxide
    • Vitamin C serums or exfoliating scrubs
  • Avoid chemical peels, microneedling, and waxing on the treatment area for 1 week prior.
  • If you have a history of cold sores (Herpes Simplex virus), notify your provider — antiviral prophylaxis (such as valacyclovir) may be prescribed prior to treatment.
  • Discontinue isotretinoin (Accutane) for at least 6 months before treatment.
  • Avoid anti-inflammatory medications (ibuprofen, aspirin) for 3 days prior unless prescribed, as these can affect healing.
  • Hydrate well for several days leading up to your appointment — healthy, hydrated skin responds best to treatment.

Day of Treatment

  • Arrive with clean, product-free skin.
    • Do not wear makeup, lotion, sunscreen, or perfume on the treatment area.
  • Avoid intense exercise before your appointment.
  • Inform your provider if you have:
    • Recent sun exposure or tanning
    • Active acne lesions or skin infections
    • New medications or health changes
  • For deeper laser treatments, topical numbing may be applied 20–30 minutes before your session.

POST-TREATMENT CARE

Immediately After Treatment

  • You may experience mild redness, warmth, or a sunburn-like sensation for several hours — this is normal.
  • Avoid touching or rubbing the treated area.
  • Apply cool compresses intermittently to reduce warmth or swelling if needed.
  • Do not apply makeup, lotions, or sunscreen for at least 12 hours post-treatment.
  • Use only gentle cleansers and soothing moisturizers recommended by your provider.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure and wear a wide-brimmed hat if outdoors.

First 24–48 Hours

  • Avoid:
    • Hot tubs, saunas, or steam rooms
    • Strenuous exercise or excessive sweating
    • Exfoliating products or scrubs
    • Retinoids, acids, or alcohol-based toners
  • If mild dryness or flaking occurs, apply a fragrance-free moisturizer as needed — do not pick or peel.
  • Do not use active skincare ingredients for at least 3–5 days.
  • Use a broad-spectrum SPF 50+ sunscreen daily, even indoors, to protect your new collagen and prevent pigmentation.

After 3–5 Days

  • Skin should appear smoother, clearer, and more radiant.
  • You may resume your regular skincare regimen once skin feels fully comfortable.
  • Continue daily sun protection and hydration to maintain your results.
  • Mild redness or sensitivity may persist for a few days, especially with deeper treatments.

RESULTS AND TREATMENT PLAN

  • You’ll notice an instant glow after your first session, with continued improvement as collagen remodels over 4–6 weeks.
  • For optimal results:
    • A series of 3–6 treatments spaced 3–4 weeks apart is typically recommended.
    • Maintenance treatments every 3–6 months help sustain long-term rejuvenation.
  • Laser facials pair beautifully with other treatments such as HydraFacial®, Microneedling RF, or Chemical Peels for enhanced results.
