ABOUT HYDRAFACIAL®
HydraFacial® is a non-invasive, medical-grade facial treatment that deeply cleanses, exfoliates, extracts impurities, and infuses the skin with nourishing serums, antioxidants, and peptides.
It is safe for all skin types and provides an instant, healthy glow with no downtime.
HydraFacial treatments can improve hydration, texture, fine lines, congestion, acne, and hyperpigmentation — making it an ideal monthly maintenance facial.
PRE-TREATMENT CARE
5–7 Days Before Treatment
- Discontinue use of active skincare ingredients on the face, neck, or chest:
- Retinoids or Retin-A (tretinoin)
- Alpha or beta hydroxy acids (AHA/BHA)
- Glycolic acid, salicylic acid, lactic acid
- Benzoyl peroxide or strong exfoliating scrubs
- Avoid tanning and sunburn for at least 5 days before treatment.
- Tanned or sunburned skin cannot be treated safely.
- Avoid facial waxing, laser treatments, or chemical peels for at least 7 days prior to your HydraFacial.
- Discontinue oral or topical acne medications (if possible) such as isotretinoin or aggressive topical prescriptions for 6 months (Accutane) or 5–7 days (benzoyl peroxide, tretinoin).
- If you have a history of cold sores (Herpes Simplex virus), please notify your provider — antiviral medication (e.g., valacyclovir) may be prescribed prior to facial treatments involving the lips.
24 Hours Before Treatment
- Avoid excessive heat, exercise, or steam exposure.
- Do not use self-tanning products on the face or neck.
- Hydrate well — drink at least 6–8 glasses of water for optimal skin plumpness and results.
- Shave facial hair at least 24 hours before treatment (if applicable) to avoid irritation.
- Arrive with a clean face — no makeup, lotion, sunscreen, or topical creams.
POST-TREATMENT CARE
Immediately After Treatment
- Your skin may appear slightly pink or flushed for a few hours; this is normal and temporary.
- Avoid touching or picking at your skin.
- Do not apply makeup or sunscreen for 4–6 hours post-treatment to allow your skin to absorb the infused serums completely.
- Do not wash your face for at least 6 hours after your HydraFacial.
- After 6 hours, use a gentle, non-exfoliating cleanser and lukewarm water.
- Avoid steam rooms, saunas, hot tubs, or vigorous exercise for 24 hours to minimize irritation.
- If mild tightness or dryness occurs, apply a light, hydrating moisturizer recommended by your provider.
First 24–48 Hours
- Avoid:
- Direct sun exposure or tanning.
- Exfoliating products or scrubs.
- Active ingredients (retinol, acids, or Vitamin C serums).
- Waxing or threading.
- Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen SPF 30+ daily and reapply every 2 hours when outdoors.
- You may resume wearing makeup after 24 hours if there is no redness or sensitivity.
- Stay hydrated to maintain your post-facial glow and support the detoxification process.
After 3–5 Days
- You may resume your normal skincare routine (including retinol or acids) once skin feels fully healed and comfortable.
- Continue daily use of SPF 50+ sunscreen and antioxidant serums for long-term protection.
- For acne-prone or congested skin, your provider may recommend a HydraFacial Clarifying Booster series for best results.
- For pigment or anti-aging goals, booster serums such as Britenol® or Dermabuilder® can enhance results with repeat treatments.
RESULTS AND TREATMENT PLAN
- Immediate results include hydration, smoothness, and a radiant glow.
- Pore size, tone, and texture improvements continue for several days as your skin absorbs infused serums.
- For best results:
- Monthly HydraFacials are recommended for ongoing skin maintenance and rejuvenation.
- A series of 3–6 treatments may be advised for specific concerns such as acne, hyperpigmentation, or fine lines.
- HydraFacial can be safely combined with other treatments such as microneedling, peels, or laser therapies, under provider guidance.
